7.2. Managing Users

The oVirt Server Suite User Interface provides the ability to manage users. Users are created within a hardware or virtual resource pool context, and cannot be moved between resource pools. However, user roles can be changed as necessary by the team or hardware administrator.

7.2.1. The User Access Page

Before you can assign user permissions, you must be logged into the oVirt Server Suite User Interface as the administrator. This gives you the requisite privileges.

  1. kinit as the kerberos admin user. (If you are using the developer installation this is "ovirtadmin").

  2. Browse to the oVirt Server Suite User Interface.

  3. Navigate either to top-level, or required resource or virtual pool and click User Access on the menubar.

    The User Access page displays. The list of existing users, their roles and status display in the list.

  4. You can add users from the LDAP database, change user roles within a pool and remove users for the selected pool.
